Lonely Heart

So Mike has been gone for about 51 days now (who's counting right?) and I have to be honest, this has been the longest 51 days of my life! I think this is the longest we have ever been apart and I have tried to be strong and not think about when he is coming home, just remembering that it will be soon, but the last few weeks have been the hardest. Its usually fine until Kira goes to bed and I sit on my couch and realize that I am alone. Since Mike left I can't get to sleep til the early hours of the morning and I wake up a couple of times through the night, then usually get up at about 7. Is it just that I don't have a warm body next to me? Anyway, it sucks, I thought he would be home the beginning of June but I talked to him last week and he told me mid June:( When I get really sad I just remember my favorite quote, "Distance between two hearts is not an obstacle; rather a great reminder of just how strong true love can be." When Mike leaves it reminds me of how much I really do love him, and that life without him would be like a fish without water, you just wouldn't survive. Come home soon Mike xxx

What's New

So I havn't put up a new post in a while because nothing really intersting has happened. Its been a hard month with Mike gone but I am getting through it, I just remind myself that he will be home before I know it and this is just quality time I get to spend with my beautiful daughter. She is a daddys girl when he is home so this is my time:) Kira is learning and growing up so fast, I wish I could just pause time. Her new thing is when she gets in trouble for doing something she is not supposed to be doing, she comes over to me and kisses me so she won't get in trouble. Those of you who know me know that I don't fall for that. As cute and precious as that little face is, it doesn't work on mommy, its hard to be the mean mommy when she does that but she is smart and if I let her get away with that, then she will walk all over me.

So today we where at El Rancho, my favorite place to eat and Kira was listening to the music on my phone and was dancing and head banging in the high chair. Well, she was head banging a little too hard and smacked her head into the edge of the table, so hard in fact that it left a red inflamed line across the top of her eyebrow. Im sorry but I couldn't help but laugh at her, (my friend laughed too, I am not the only evil one) suprisingly enough she barely even cried, she let out a little wimper and was fine. Well of course she saw how hard we where laughing at her that she purposely bent over and smacked her head on the table again, couldnt see that one coming! What a dork, but I love her. It is moments like that, that make me get through the day, my beautiful Kira always manages to put a smile on my face, and remind me of how much I love being a mom.
